Sold as a school-fees card, and the fine print is the whole story: the 10% applies to merchant code 8299 alone — school bus transport, canteen, uniform and extracurricular activities — while school and university FEES sit in the bank's low-interchange bucket at 0.15%, sixty-seven times lower. Earning across the card is capped at 334,000 FAB Rewards a month, which the bank prints as AED 1,000. Everything else is ordinary — 1% at home, 2% abroad, 0.15% on the long low-interchange list that includes supermarkets, telecom, fuel and utilities. FAB publishes its own points-to-money rate inside that document twice over: the FAB Travel card's monthly ceiling is printed as a number of Rewards equivalent to AED 1,800, and its cashback tables state the same equivalence row by row — 3.5 Rewards a dirham is 1%, 17 is 5%, 41 is 12%.
