What it pays, by category

SpendingRateMonthly cap
dining5.00%—Restaurants and food delivery, local and international. No monthly cap. This is what makes the card beat fee-paying rivals on a large restaurant bill.
travel1.00%—International and non-AED spend.
government0.15%—Utilities, government payments and charity.
fuel0.15%—Fuel.
education0.15%—School fees.
phone and internet0.15%—Telecom bills.
rent and property0.15%—Rent and real estate payments.
Free for life, no minimum spend, and an uncapped 5% on dining. That combination is rare in this market and is the whole case for the card. Everything else is weak: 1% on international spend, up to 1% locally, and 0.15% on bills, which is the lowest bill rate in this library. A separate AED 50 per merchant per month ceiling applies to promotional merchants such as Netflix, Talabat and Careem. Cashback expires 36 months after it is earned and needs an AED 100 balance before it can be redeemed. Nothing is earned on bill payments made through online or mobile banking.
