Six Mashreq Vantage points a dirham on anything bought in another currency, four on airlines, hotels and travel, two on other local spending and one on government payments, fuel, education, utilities, telecoms, rent and charity. At Mashreq's cashback rate of 380 points to the dirham that is about 1.6% abroad and 0.5% at home, so the fee is the thing to weigh: it is the most expensive card in Mashreq's range and its everyday rate is a quarter of the Platinum Plus's. No points at all on utility bills paid through the Mashreq app or online banking; the same bill paid at the provider earns the reduced rate. Mashreq prices the points in the same document: 380 to the dirham as cashback in the app, 303 for an Amazon.ae gift card or at a Mashreq terminal, 288 for a noon gift card. Everything below is measured at the cashback rate, because that is the route with nothing attached to it. The airline conversions are far worse and are not what this values — 32 points for one Skywards Mile, 22 for an Etihad Guest Mile, 17 for an Avios.
