Resolved, lower reading: Amex's product page and the first set of terms on its benefits page say the 5X categories share $2,500 of net purchases a month, reset on the 1st; a second set of terms on the benefits page says $30,000 a year on the cardmembership anniversary and adds 2X on all travel. The monthly limit and the terms without general 2X travel are kept, because they pay less. Gas, transit and ride share earn 2X, travel booked anywhere else 1X. $15.99 a month ($191.88 a year; billed yearly in Quebec). 2.5% foreign currency conversion commission.
