What it pays, by category
| Spending | Rate | Monthly cap |
|---|---|---|
| All spending | 0.50% | —All spending. €5,000 a year before anything is paid, €225 a year at most. |
One rate on everything, inside two annual bounds that decide what it is worth. AIB's own page: "Spend over €5,000 (and up to €50,000) in any 12 month period from your account opening date, we will give you 0.5% of that amount back (maximum award for each 12 month period is €225)". So nothing at all below €5,000 a year, and never more than €225. Both are yearly figures shown here as their monthly equivalents — €416.67 and €18.75 — because this app reasons in months; AIB itself calculates the award monthly and credits it on each statement date. The €30 is government stamp duty, charged on every Irish credit card account; AIB adds no annual fee of its own. An earlier version of this entry claimed 1% on a category you nominate. There is no such choice and no such rate. Source: aib.ie Platinum Visa Card page, Features & Benefits, checked 14 Sep 2026. Re-read 24 Sep 2026 against the product page and AIB's personal credit card terms (condition 105): unchanged, 0.5% on purchases between EUR 5,000 and EUR 50,000 in each 12-month period, EUR 225 at most. Currency conversion fee 1.75% on non-euro spending in the Visa Europe region and 2.75% elsewhere (AIB fees document, effective 19 June 2026); 2.75% is the figure used here.

PayperWIZ holds the cards you actually own and names the right one at the till — after the cap you have already used this month, and after the foreign-currency fee. It works offline and never connects to a bank.
