Bill-heavy households are the target. The top rate is tied to paying through Google Pay specifically, a payment-channel condition this app cannot detect for you, so the same bill paid another way earns the base rate. The ₹500 ceiling is shared between the 5% and 4% categories only and leaves the base rate uncapped; the app cannot express a ceiling over part of a card, so ₹500 sits on each of the two and the real combined ceiling is half what they imply. The base rate fell from 2% to 1.5% on 20 April 2024 and Axis’s own product page still advertises 2%. Sources differ on the fee (₹499 and ₹999 are both published); the lower is used here.
