2% on ordinary spending and 5% on travel, which are unusually good Indian rates, and both are in EDGE Miles rather than EDGE REWARD Points. Axis prices an EDGE Mile at ₹1 and says plainly that it cannot be encashed, so the value is real but it is travel money, not money. The accelerated rate covers the Axis Travel EDGE portal, airline websites and hotel websites directly — not travel agents — and this app cannot tell those apart from a merchant name, so it takes the base rate for travel unless you say where you booked. Axis publishes an exclusion list for this card covering gold and jewellery, rent, wallet loads, government institutions, fuel, and utilities and telecom, but publishes it against the tier and milestone thresholds rather than against earning, and does not restate it where it states the rates. It is applied here as zeroes on the reasoning that if it is wrong the card is understated, which is the safer way to be wrong.
