SpendingRateMonthly cap
non-rupee spendingtravel1.00%—Anything bought in a currency other than the rupee, not only travel. ICICI publishes 4 Reward Points per Rs 100; this is that figure per rupee — again
everything else1.00%—Everything else in rupees: 4 Reward Points per Rs 100.
government0.25%—Utility bills, on the reduced band ICICI shares with insurance: 1 Reward Point per Rs 100.
phone and internet0.25%—Telecom bills, on the same reduced band.
The top of ICICI's range, and the only one that pays its full rate at home as well as abroad. It also cuts the foreign markup from 3.5% to 2%, which on a card this expensive is most of what the fee buys. 4 Reward Points per Rs 100 abroad, 4 at home, and 1 on utility bills and insurance. The foreign rate is the one to read twice: ICICI charges a 2.0% markup on every non-rupee transaction, and at the 25 paise a Reward Point is worth on the ordinary redemption, 4 points per Rs 100 is 1% — less than the markup, so the card costs more abroad than it pays. Rs Rs 12,000 plus GST a year, waived entirely on Rs 1,000,000 of annual spending. A 1% fuel surcharge waiver applies on transactions up to Rs 4,000.
