5% is real, online, and small. It applies to food delivery, groceries and entertainment bought online — the same shopping done in a shop earns the base 0.5% — and the accelerated categories together stop at ₹750 a statement cycle, which 5% reaches at ₹15,000 of spending. Past that Kotak says plainly that they earn nothing further rather than dropping to the base rate, so the ceiling is a cliff. Fuel is the unusual one: 3% at every fuel station, inside the same ₹750, plus a surcharge waiver worth up to ₹3,500 a year. Nothing at all on rent, utilities, insurance, education, government, wallet loads, online gaming, business-to-business payments or anything converted to EMI. ₹750 to join and ₹750 a year, waived above ₹2 lakh of retail spending, and the first year is currently free. 3.5% abroad.
